Asher turns 3 months old

As promised, Asher’s third month didn’t disappoint. This had to be one of the busiest month’s in his entire life. His third month was filled with adventure, celebration, achievements, new places, new faces, and unfortunately even some sorrow. Despite all the “growing” Asher experienced in his third month, you wouldn’t be able to tell on a scale. He’s still our small little Asher weighing in at just over 11lbs.

Asher’s month started with another trip down to South Florida for a wedding. During this trip, Asher got to attend a brunch at the Breakers and see Grandpa & Grandma Levine’s new kitchen. By the next week, we were back down to South Florida after hearing the unfortunate news that Asher’s Great Grandmother Ann had passed away. The sorrow was bittersweet as it was the first time Asher got to meet his Uncle Jon, Aunt Hollie, and cousins Benjamin and Jordyn. They drove down from Atlanta and the whole family came together in Boca.

Less than a week later, Asher got to celebrate Brian’s birthday at a new restaurant at Downtown Disney called T-Rex. Only a couple days later, Asher got to celebrate his first Valentine’s Day. Amongst all this activity, Asher had started daycare and has been doing great. He smiles when he gets in his classroom and loves all the various swings and gliders.

He even had his first unscheduled trip to the doctor’s office. A little eczema and some cradle cap, but it wasn’t getting better so we had to see the doctor to get some prescriptions. With all the treatments, bath time has become bath hour with daily lathering, massaging, brushing of the hair, applying of lotion, and application of some medicine. The doctor also increased his bottles to 6 ounces in hope of adding some pounds to Asher’s bones. He seems to finish the 6 ounce bottles most of the time.

The sleeping has only gotten better. As you will see from the pictures this month, Logan’s old room has been converted. The space above the crib now has Asher’s letters instead of Logan’s and Asher loves the crib. He doesn’t make a sound from the time you lay him down around 8pm until he wakes up 10-11 hours later. His normal time is 6:30am, but it can be a half hour on either side. There was even one day last week where he was too tired for his nighttime bottle and still slept until 7am. Of course, the swaddle helps .

In terms of developmental accomplishments this month, Asher has started laughing when stimulated. He has also been seen putting his pacifier back in his mouth after it comes out. He is doing much better sitting up (assisted) and may be ready for the bumbo next month. He can spin around in the crib so that his head is where his feet should be.

So, what can we look forward to for next month? No real holidays to look forward to, though it will be Brian and Stefanie’s 4th anniversary this month. We’ll also be visiting Universal Studios and probably hit Disney at least once this month. The rest will have to wait for the blog recap.
